Mozhgan Gerayeli experiences that companies opt out of highly educated foreigners because they have a presumption that they are not as skilled employees or will not fit into their company. She does not call it racism, but discrimination due to ignorance.

Mozhgan Gerayeli is 54 years old and winner of the Søstersindprize in 2019. She is a software engineer and founder and owner of Mozhi Consulting.
Mozhgan was born and raised in Iran. As a 21-year-old and family reunited, she came to Denmark in 1986 to live a new life with her husband, who had fled from the priestly regime. Two years later they divorced. With an infant daughter in her arms, she decided to get an education. First Mozhgan learned Danish, then she took a HF and finally she became a Software/Data engineer. When she looks back on it, she thinks, “Stop it where I left off.”
